Made 4 Me is a truly unique non-profit organization created to help improve the lives of children with special needs by creating specialized and personalized items and furniture that is absolutely free to any family in need. How do they manage it?
By utilizing the brains and brawn of builders (volunteer engineers. skilled workers and overally handy people) who have developed a process to build incredibly sturdy pieces using specialized cardboard. So sturdy in fact, four of their uniquely built cardboard boxes are able to support the weight of a full-size SUV.
Of course, in order to keep helping families in need without charging a penny, Made 4 Me needed to appeal to the hearts of sponsors and donations. And, to do that, we volunteered to tell their story, and to break it down into compelling segments to engage wtih viewers.
After telling the overall story, we focused on telling one specific story, A Hero's Journey of Chloe and Chick. A young woman fighting a host of difficulties and her helper dog.
And, after telling heartwarming stories like that, we decided to create digital shorts that brought the uniqueness of this organization to life. Especially their use of cardboard to build long-lasting furniture personalized to the child's need.
So, in the end, we were able to not only tell their story, we were able to create a library of videos telling multiple aspects of the Made 4 Me story. It allowed them to use video across multiple platforms, to develop fund-raising communications and to share their purpose with a wider audience.
And, most important, to exceed their funding goals which allowed them to continue on their incredible mission.
